Thomas Barton Reserve Medoc - elegant and seductive red wine, a blend which is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), harmoniously complemented by Merlot (35%). Vineyards grow in the prestigious Medoc region, including coastal lagoons, sand dunes and pine forests.
Located between the Atlantic coast and the estuary of the Gironde, the region has a unique micro-climatic conditions that are best suited for viticulture. For millennia, the river Garonne and Dordogne, Gironde estuary in merging, brings a wealth of minerals mud and gravel.
These deposits have accumulated at the confluence of the rivers and became the fundamental basis of the Medoc region. Well-drained, light-reflecting, mineral-rich soil are ideal for growing slow-ripening red grapes.
